One of the high cost components of traditional spectrometry systems is commercially available glass retroreflector arrays. OPTRA has developed a novel plastic injection molded technique and an optical design with optimized radiometric efficiency. Its performance and significantly lower cost make it an ideal component for many open-path optical monitoring applications.

Developed for the U.S. Marine Corps to provide accurate absolute measurement of skin temperature of personnel exposed to directed energy non-lethal weapons, OPTRA's two-band IR Thermographer employs a novel spectro-radiometric technique to extract temperature information regardless of weather condition.
