OPTRA’s
expertise in broad spectrum sources, optics and detectors position it
uniquely to develop high end instrumentation for a wide range of
applications. From the commerical products offered below to
systems custom-developed to your company's specifications, OPTRA is
proud of its ability to solve their customer's toughest problems:
One
of the high cost components of traditional spectrometry systems is
commercially available glass retroreflector arrays. OPTRA has
developed a
novel plastic injection molded technique and an optical design with
optimized radiometric efficiency. Its performance and
significantly lower cost make it an ideal component for many open-path
optical monitoring applications.
OPTRA's
long experience with a multitude of spectroscopic techniques (Fourier
transform, scanning Fabry-Perot, dispersive, Raman, tunable diode
laser) are on display here. Applications include:
Trace-material
detection
Industrial contamination monitoring
Military and
private-sector surveillance.
Joint Service Lightweight Standoff Chemical Agent Detector (JSLSCAD)
Developed for the U.S. Marine Corps to provide accurate absolute
measurement of skin temperature of personnel exposed to directed energy
non-lethal weapons, OPTRA's two-band IR Thermographer employs a novel
spectro-radiometric technique to extract temperature information
regardless of weather condition.
The plastic injection molded
retroreflector array was originally developed for use with an open-path
Fourier transform infrared (OP-FTIR) spectrometer, as a low-cost alternative to commercially
available glass retroreflector arrays.
