OPTRA has developed a number of custom and laboratory products
including velocimeters, extensometers, and distance meters using
electro-optics. These products have advantages for their ability to be
non-contact and to work in a wide variety of temperatures or other
harsh environmental conditions. OPTRA is currently working to
develop and integrate technology into practical solutions in the
following areas:
|
 |
| NanoGrid Positioning Sensor |
|
| Metrology/Motion Control
OPTRA’s precision distance metrology products are targeted at the
semiconductor equipment and other precision manufacturing markets.
Electronic and mechanical devices of all kinds are becoming smaller,
thus requiring continually increasing precision in their manufacture.
Our goal is to provide customers with non-contact electro-optic
feedback sensors that improve manufacturing performance and quality.

Laser Beam Steering
OPTRA’s family of Beam Steerers uses compact Risley Prism pairs for
fast steering of laser beams. Designed for applications in optical
avoidance, IRCM (infrared countermeasures) and free-space optical communications,
OPTRA's optimized closed loop bandwidth allows for high-speed
continuous spiral scanning or
step-and-share positioning. Custom designs are
available upon request.

| 25mm Diameter Clear Aperture Beam Steering System |
|
|
 |
| Laser Detection - Laser Event and Exposure Recorder |
|
| Laser Beam Detection
OPTRA's laser detection technology leverages digital camera technology with wavelength
encoding optics to measure the energy, wavelength, and temporal characteristics
of lasers operating in the visible to near-IR regime.
|
Instrumentation - Spectroscopy
OPTRA has practical experience in developing complex spectrometers and
sensors for detection of trace amounts of material. Special expertise
exists in the area of passive and automatic detection in the mid-infrared spectrum.

| Joint Service Lightweight Standoff Chemical Agent Detector (JSLSCAD) Modulator Assembly |
|
|
 |
| Thermographer - Skin Temperature Measurement |
|
| Instrumentation - Thermography
OPTRA's
Imaging Thermographer was developed for the Marine Corps to provide a
means for monitoring the skin temperature of personnel targeted by a
non-lethal directed energy beam. All-weather accurate temperature
measurements can be made at ranges up to 700 meters.
